Enjoying the community and staying positive?

I have always been a very perfectionist and dreamy person, both positive and negative traits; and these have also translated into my book community journey. Being proud of what I’ve accomplished and trying not to compare myself to others isn’t always easy…

I joined the community because I wanted to enjoy books in a different way, just like I started reviewing books. It kinda happened… I felt like I needed to explore my creative side both through photographing and writing. This has become both a hassle and a joy. I really like to take pictures of my favourite books or the novels I’m planning to read, but it has also become a self-imposed duty. It does bring me joy to express myself in such a way, but it has become very frustrating to not see myself grow – or at least, at the same pace everybody seems to.

Def what frustrates me the most is spending time doing something, spending money on props and then those photos flop. I think everybody has felt this way at some point, but nowadays it is so easy to push yourself to unhealthy limits just based on what you think you should have achieved.

I am looking at this from a brighter place and I’m trying to understand it differently, as an album or digital bookshelf to share titles. I’ll try to stay away from negative vibes and focus on what I like and stick to my style rather than trying to please someone. And I’ll keep reminding myself of how much I’ve grown looking at my content and how happy I feel about that journey.
